ASRC Federal Holding Company Database Administrator in Edwards AFB, California
We are hiring a Database Administrator to develop and manage databases in support of NASA applications used to support aircraft operations and maintenance, configuration control, access management, and other critical functions of Armstrong Flight Research Center's activities.
This role is located at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, near Palmdale/Lancaster, CA. As a part of this team, you will be required to work a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 7:30am-5:00pm.
Provides general database analysis, administration, and programming support for various database systems used at Armstrong, include user management, database design, data imports and exports, database software updates and patches, database backups, and security compliance.
Works with application developers and user communities to determine requirements for new database-driven applications, including data transition and conversion support, creating user/group roles, and helping to define any reporting requirements.
Maintains and creates web application front-ends using the Oracle Application Express (APEX) platform.
Implements changes in accordance with NASA change management requirements and during scheduled maintenance periods.
Assists the customer and the rest of the team with maintaining an understanding of the "big picture" view of the database environment to ensure strategic approaches to project planning, operational tasks, system updates, and balancing and prioritizing short- and long-term requirements.

High School diploma and at least 3 years of related work experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Experience in migrating databases to the latest version of the DB platform, and between different platforms.
Knowledgeable in database administration, design, queries, security, and performance tuning and optimization in High Availability clusters for the Oracle Database 11 and 12 platforms and the Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2014, and 2016 platforms.
Must have US Citizenship and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clerarance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Security Clearance.
