Jacobs has a need for multiple aircraft/avionics instrumentation engineers to support projects including Orion and the Ascent Abort -2 flight (AA-2), the Low Boom Flight Demonstrator (LBFD), and fighter aircraft performing high speed research in support of future Commercial Supersonic Transport (CST) concepts.
Ideal candidate will:
Use identified requirements to fully design, test and support flight instrumentation systems on current and future research projects.
Support the use of the TTC data processing systems in the checkout of instrumentation and ground test efforts.
Coordinate with the mission control room personnel in the development and design of the displays, development of the data cycle maps, calibration files and run files.
Create reports and other documentation necessary to describe the results of studies and/or tests.
Generate engineering drawings in Autocad.
Review project instructions to ascertain requirements, specifications, procedures, objectives, equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions.
Document and elicit user requirements, perform requirements decomposition and allocation to fully document operational and functional needs for systems in specific technical areas.
Set up and conduct tests or studies of complete systems, components, or concepts under research test conditions to investigate proposals for improving performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
Record test or report procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and makes recommendations for changes.
Create project schedules to track progress on projects and to ensure that deadlines are met.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science required.
We are looking for engineers knowledgeable in the following areas with previous use highly desired:
3 years related Engineering experience
TTC airborne PCM encoders and transmitters programming and operations
PCM De-commutators
Airborne sensors (analog and digital sensors and avionics bus taps)
AutoCAD software
Airborne sensor installation design
Writing sensor Calibration procedures for aircraft instrumentation systems
Use of calibration equipment and application to performing aircraft sensor calibrations
Create and execute environmental testing for aircraft operations
Can travel in support of program requirements and needs
Can communicate clearly both verbally and in writing (Required for shift pass downs, procedure writing and test documentation)

Attendance
Normal hours are Monday – Friday, between the core hours of 7:00am – 6:00pm.
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines
Regular attendance is necessary and required
This position may work weekends or second shift. Flexibility is required based upon workload.
