Main Purpose of the Role:
TSC is seeking a first rate qualified Tooling Technician with experience in setup and build of composite tools and assembly structures. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills, a hands-on person with great versatility with regard to building and assembling large precision structures. The first task of this role will be the fabrication of world class composite tooling utilizing infusion, wet lay, pre-preg and other tooling techniques. The technician in this position will support the production tooling and equipment design and installation in order to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory.
Hands‐on composite Tooling fabrication, creating composite tooling from master molds.
Large structure handling: driving a forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, etc. operating a crane or hoist.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Produce composite aircraft tooling within tight tooling aerospace tooling tolerances.
Complete understanding and hands on experience with tooling infusion process.
In autoclave and out of autoclave tooling processes
Hands on experience in setup of large scale precision fixtures or tooling
Excellent Organizational Skills and problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills (CAD and/or 3D software packages) as well as standard Microsoft products a plus
Strong team player
Experience with large aircraft assembly and inspection a plus
Metal shop skills (welding, grinding, machining, etc.) a plus
Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)
Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min.
Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted).
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
