Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be primarily located in Palmdale, CA. This position is open to being supported out of El Segundo and Rancho Bernardo. If located out of El Segundo and Rancho Bernardo, up to 50% travel may be required.
The selected candidate will be responsible for design, development, integration, test, and analysis of Special Signals and advanced RF systems. They are expected to be highly-motivated and self-starting.
Conducting trade studies on back-end RF processors and advanced 1D and 2D phased arrays, supplier management, requirements review/flow-down, system integration, test plan development, and test execution of a Special Signals system throughout the entire development, demonstration, and production phases.
Must possess technical knowledge of Radio Frequency and Electrical Engineering concepts, such as link budgets, waveforms, space loss, system noise, antenna fundamentals and equations, digital filtering, and circuit design.
Experience with or knowledge of Special Signals Systems or related processors and cards, software defined radios, phased array concepts, array calibration, and beam steering concepts is preferred.
A familiarity with the definition, design, integration, test and certification (end-to-end development) and operation of electronic systems is preferred.
Experience preparing detailed requirements specifications, statements of work, test plans and procedures, certification plans and procedures, performance reports, etc. related to these governing standards.
Hands on testing experience of electronic systems is a plus.
Quickly learn and understand all system requirements and participate in all related design reviews.
Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Microsoft Office, scheduling methods, and technical writing skills.
The position requires excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.
Must have at least 2 years of STEM related experience or 0 years with a Master’s Degree.
An active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance
The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance and program access.
MS in Engineering.
Current Top Secret Security clearance.
Special Signals or related systems and Antenna integration
