Lockheed Martin Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior E3 / Advanced Programs in Palmdale, California

This position is for a mechanical design engineer. A successful candidate will have a complete understanding of the principles and techniques of aircraft mechanisms, landing gear and structural design. The candidate will coordinate efforts across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Structural Analysis, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Test and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities for this position include:
• Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work. • Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans. • Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams. • Provide manufacturing, component test and ground/flight test support.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant does not require a security clearance to start, but will be required to obtain a secret clearance after starting.
Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s or above degree in an Engineering Discipline • Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
Desired skills • Experience in CATIA V5 • Experience in mechanism design • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) • Experience with hand stress analysis • Excellent writing and communication skills
