Princess Cruises – We are currently searching for highly motivated Graduate and Undergraduate student interns to join our dynamic Fleet Technical departments. The selected interns will work on departmental projects as well as participate in professional development and enrichment activities.

Program runs 10 weeks from June 11th - August 17th or June 18th - August 24th. (Please note, END dates can be extended depending on department needs and students availability.)
Must be currently enrolled as an under graduate (junior standing or above) or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher (will require transcripts) in a four year accredited College/University.
MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer.
Students under OPT and CPT status will not be considered.
Fleet Services Technical – Project will provide understanding of financial evaluations, future cruise ship design (focus on energy efficiency), gas turbines as alternative prime movers, new project development in the areas of energy efficiency and environment, operational improvement leading to port energy use reduction, and organizational improvement of the projects group. The Interns will assist with working on outlining current training programs and creating proposal for revamped training. Tasks assigned will teach data research, analytical, proposal creation, and presentation preparation skills. Interns will be able to understand different types of inventory on board each vessel and the different inventory levels by ship and class. They will understand the financial impact and commitment involved for the company and gain an understanding of where the potential cost savings areas are. These projects will provide a diverse baseline for understanding the technical projects group within technical operations.
Fleet Services Marine Operations – Project will allow coordinating port marine information and development of a Maritime Assessment database. The intern will have the opportunity to work in a multinational operation and collaborate with different departments such us Shore Operation, International Marketing, Information Technology, logistic and liaising with worldwide ports/tourism administration. In addition, he/she will have the opportunity to work as project supervisor in a large organization. Marine background with good understanding of basic seamanship and deck operations is ideal for this project.
Safety Environmental Operations & Regulatory Services (SERS) - Project will provide exposure to sustainability measurements, improve waste minimization techniques, explore recycling opportunities, and improve in-house share/drive filing systems. In addition to the above, you will also have the opportunity to work on the process and log final Hazardous Waste Manifests
Maritime – The intern for this project will be responsible for coordinating port marine information and developing a Maritime Assessment database. He/she will have the opportunity to work in a multinational operation and collaborate with different departments such us Shore Operation, International Marketing, Information Technology, logistic and liaising with worldwide ports/tourism administration. In addition, he/she will have the opportunity to work as project supervisor in a large organization.
Maritime – A second project will provide the opportunity for an intern to improve the system of tracking/information sharing for Ship Stability & Damage Control activities, with the goal of increase visibility & understanding between shoreside operations and the fleet. Note, this is not a coding exercise but a project to make better use the software tools available to us, thereby improving communication and understanding between ship and shore. The selected intern will gain an understanding of issues commonly raised by the fleet and the challenges of managing a large and diverse set of assets.
Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers. Will be responsible to find your own lodging and must be willing to find reliable transportation to Santa Clarita. (Note: This is a suburb of Los Angeles. Public transportation is available but is limited.)
Must be authorized to work for all employers in the US.
Paid hourly; $18.00/hr. Undergraduate Students and $30.00/hr. Graduate Students.
May include but not limited to Environmental Operations, Maritime, Compliance and Technical Operations.
Business Administration, Environmental Science, Economics, Maritime, International Business, Engineering and MBA’s.
Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, especially MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access.
Basic understanding of management systems.
Depending on type of position, other specific programs may be required.
